Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog "seer of seers," saw his shadow on Feb. 2 and foretold six more weeks of winter − no surprise to people in the East, who have been caught in a deep freeze the past two weeks. Note, however, that in more than 100 years, Phil has been right just 35% of the time, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. That's nowhere near New York's Staten Island Chuck, whose accuracy rate is more like 85% (and who also − sorry – saw six more weeks of winter). Meanwhile, another cold blast was threatening the Northeast for the weekend.

Moon-bound Artemis 2 won't fly for now
NASA's mission to fly astronauts to the moon for the first time in more than 50 yearswill have to wait at least another month. Artemis 2, which will send three Americans and one Canadian around the moon − but not to the surface − had been planned for Feb. 8, but a liquid hydrogen leak during a crucial launch rehearsal forced the delay. The crew has now beenfreed from prelaunch quarantineuntil the next launch window. "The big takeaway was we got a chance for the rocket to talk to us," said John Honeycutt of the mission management team. "And it did just that."

Fans wear their gripes on their sleeves
Fans of the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks are finding the Super Bowl swag lacking, and they're not happy. Now, complaints about the availability and quality of jerseys have led apparel retailer Fanatics to admit it did not anticipate the demand. "We've let Patriots and Seahawks fans down. ... We own that and we are sorry," the company said. It noted that few could have predicted thePatriots-Seahawks matchup− neither team made the playoffs last year and now find themselves in the Super Bowl, "an incredibly rare occurrence."– Compiled and written by Robert Abitbol
