U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials at theLaredo Port of Entryseized 190,000 lethal doses of cocaine worth $6,800,000, according to a press release.

The drugs were seized from a truck delivering flowers at the World Trade Bridge inLaredo, Texason Tuesday.

A 2018 T3 International tractor and trailer was referred for inspection by a CBP officer. The vehicle had a shipment of "roses/fresh flowers."

Officers seized a total of 211 packages containing516.76 pounds of alleged cocainefollowing a canine and non-intrusive inspection system examination.

Laredo Port of Entry director Alberto Flores said in the release the "substantial" seizure "highlights the steadfast dedication of our officers in safeguarding our borders and communities from the threat of illicit drug trafficking."

"The discovery within a shipment of roses demonstrates the vigilance and expertise of our officers," said Flores.

The World Trade International Bridge connects the United States and Mexico over the Rio Grande between Laredo and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

Homeland Security Investigationsspecial agents are investigating the seizure.

Over theSuper Bowl weekend, a fugitive was apprehended at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo.

A CBP officer requested a secondary examination for a 64-year-old male, Rito Bueno, matching him to an arrest warrant.

"Bueno has been wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child," read a press release at the time.

Bueno was transported to Webb County jail in Laredo for adjudication of the warrant.

Severe weather is headed to the deep South, from Texas to Mississippi, with damaging winds, possible tornadoes and some large hail forecast.

A tornado watch is in effect for several counties in southeast Texas, including the area around Houston, until 9 p.m. CT.

The powerful storm system is moving out of the Rockies on Saturday and bringing severe weather across the deep South.

Storms were moving into Dallas, Texas, late Saturday morning, with some gusty winds and very heavy rain.

The storms were on track to move through Houston between 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday with damaging winds, a threat for an isolated tornado and some heavy rain.

New Orleans, Louisiana, and Jackson, Mississippi, will see storms moving through between midnight and 2 a.m. Damaging winds, isolated tornado and heavy rain is possible.

Storms move through Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama, early Sunday morning from 5 to 8 a.m. with gusty winds and heavy rain.

Atlanta gets storms and heavy rain mid to late morning Sunday, but severe weather with tornado threat will stay south into Albany, Georgia, to Panama City, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Florida

This same storm system with severe weather will also bring heavy rain from Texas all the way to the Carolinas with a chance for flash flooding.

The highest threat for flash flooding will be from just east of Dallas, Texas, to Little Rock, Arkansas and into Memphis, Tennessee.

Locally some areas could get 2 to 4 inches of rain in a short period of time, causing flash flooding.

After a very dry period for the entire western U.S., a very active storm track has its eyes set on the West.

Starting Sunday afternoon, a series of storms will pound the West from California to Colorado with very heavy snow in the mountains and heavy rain and flooding for coastal California.

The highest threat for flash flooding and debris flow will be from just south of the San Francisco Bay area down to Los Angeles.

Sunday through Friday, some areas in California could see 3 to 6 inches of rain, which is expected to cause flash flooding and debris flow.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains, in California, some areas could see 3 to 6 feet of snow. The Rockies could also see several feet of snow next week.

The couple opted for casual looks, with Meghan wearing a brown jacket and black pants, while Harry paired a black jacket with jeans.

Funke, an upscale restaurant belonging to chef Evan Funke, is where Meghandined to celebrate her 44th birthdayback in August.

At the time, she posted a photo from her celebrations onInstagram. In her caption, Meghan praised the restaurant, writing, "This dinner last night at @funke_la with the culinary mastery of @evanfunke and his team is in the top five meals of my life. Extraordinary 🍝 Thank you for a standout dining experience."

Last year, Meghan honored Harry with a loving post onInstagramas they spent Valentine's Day apart.

The rapper was in the middle of performing her "Thotiana" remix when she took a provocative pose in a metal chair on stage at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nev. After she leaned back a little too far, thechair came crashing down on her and she toppled backwards.

The good news? She didn't miss a beat, continuing her signature flow while lying on her back.

After returning to her feet, Cardi joked about the tumble. "That was the government!" she yelled. "That was the government!"

The musician continued to poke fun at her accident in a video posted to her Instagram Stories afterwards. "Y'all, the government was out to get me today," she said, laughing. "I'm telling you, it was the government! The government, bitch!"

Cardi alsojoked about the incidentin a post on X. Resharing video footage of it, she wrote, "Can someone put a community note on this? This video is clearly AI."

The rapper also shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing several bruises on her legs, though they're likely unrelated to her toppling on Friday night — she fell on her backside then, but the marks appeared around her knees and shins.

"I'm out here working for y'all motherf---ers!" she said in the video. "That's a lump right there. I'm out here working for y'all motherf---ers!"

In another video, which was time-stamped 2:28 a.m. local time, Cardi said she planned to take a "concoction" of supplements and anticipated a fitful night of sleep on her tour bus.

"I'm gonna take some ashwagandha, magnesium, and melatonin," she said. "Baby, I cannot wait. I want to sleep so f---ing good, bitch. Woah. I am so tired. And I just cannot get the hang of the bus — the whole shaking and everything. I'm very sensitive."

Former Disney CEOMichael Eisnerbid the company farewell long beforeJimmy Kimmel Livewas abruptly and brieflyyanked off the airin September, but he's now explaining why he couldn't stay silent on the issue.

"I just was finally fed up with universities, law firms," Eisner, who was Disney's leader from 1985 to 2005, said on a new episode ofIn Depth With Graham Bensinger. "I left law firms that had made deals with the administration. I thought that was bad. I didn't think I had any voice anymore really, so it didn't matter what I did."

Still, he said, his wife and others urged him to skip commenting on the situation or to at least be cautious.

Kimmel's late-night show wassuspended indefinitelyby ABC, whose parent company is Disney, after he made remarks about the shooting death of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10.

Kimmel had said, "We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it."

He added, "By-the-way, for the record, this ex-CEO finds Jimmy Kimmel very talented and funny."

Speaking with Bensinger, Eisner explained that he got quite a response to his message.

"Three million people contacted me the next day. They just thought it was the greatest thing in the world. And somebody finally stood up and all these celebrities," he said. "I don't know if I broke the dam. I don't know whether I began the snowball. I don't know whether it would have happened anyway."

Eisner noted that it wasn't necessarily Disney's involvement that motivated him to speak up. He was also very much against Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS News, having agreed topay $16 millionto the Trump administration in July over the way a60 Minutessegment had been edited.

He found it "ridiculous."

Eisner was also unhappy with ABC News having settled with Trump for $15 million the year before, in response to a defamation suit from the former star ofThe Apprentice, which was a response to comments onThis Week.

Eisner added that he likes to think he "wouldn't have settled."

PARATY, Brazil (AP) — Revelers heading to Carnival parties inBraziltypically don colorful, skimpy outfits and splatter glitter everywhere, but near an old colonial town in the south of the country people cover themselves in something very different – mud.

Partakers in this unusualCarnival partyin Paraty drape gray sludge on themselves and roll around in the silty shallows of a beach, forming a unified mass.

"Everyone is kind of the same (…), those who have money and those who don't: everyone comes here to jump into the mud," said Charles Garcia Pessoa, a 37-year-old entrepreneur.

Under a blazing sun, the mud-covered partygoers danced and grunted cavemen chants — "Uga! Uga!" — while marching along the sand, accompanied by musicians.

The tradition started in 1986, according to Paraty's tourism site. Friends were playing in the mangroves at Jabaquara Beach, and realized they weren't recognizable. They went strolling into the city's historic center and caused a stir.

The next year, a group lathered themselves up with mud to present themselves as a prehistoric tribe for Carnival. They carried skulls, vines and bones as they uttered their chants, the site said.

And so the mud party was born. And in the years since, it has become a beloved tradition.

Matt Bloomfield, a New Zealander who runs a film festival, decided to come to Paraty for the mud party after seeingcoverageof last year's event.

"Everyone's being so creative, you see people around decorating themselves with leaves," he said. "It's a great alternate version of Carnival."

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistan's imprisoned former Prime MinisterImran Khan will undergo treatment for an eye conditionat a specialized medical facility, a Cabinet minister said Saturday, days after the Supreme Court ordered a medical evaluation amid growing concerns about his eyesight.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar wrote on X that an examination would be conducted by leading eye specialists as part of Khan's ongoing treatment which began in late January afterKhan reported a partial loss of visionin his right eye.

The minister did not say at which medical facility and when Khan would be treated.

"A detailed report will also be submitted to the Supreme Court. Conjecture, speculations and efforts to turn this into political rhetoric and mileage for vested interests may please be avoided," Tarar said.

Earlier this week, Khan's lawyer, Salman Safdar, told the Supreme Court that the former premier had lost roughly 85% of vision in his right eye. The court subsequently directed authorities to arrange a medical assessment by a panel of doctors and facilitate a telephone call between Khan, 73, and his sons before Feb. 16.

Supporters of Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, or PTI, have staged protests in Islamabad and other cities, demanding he be moved from prison to a hospital for specialized treatment. Some of the lawmakers from PTI and its allies are also staging a sit-in outside the parliament.

Khan's family angrily responded to Tarar's announcement, saying it had not been consulted before he was taken for treatment and has called for family members and his personal physician to be present during any future procedures.

Khan's sister, Aleema Khan, said Saturday on X that the authorities had arranged the call and Khan had spoken with his sons for about 20 minutes. Khan was "extremely happy" to hear their voices after a long gap, she said, adding the family was awaiting urgent treatment of Khan at an eye hospital under the supervision of Khan's personal doctors.

The former cricket star turned politician has been in prison since 2023 after being convicted in a graft case.

He was removed from office in a parliamentary no-confidence vote in April 2022. He has alleged that his ouster was the result of a U.S.-backed conspiracy involving political rivals and Pakistan's former army chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa — allegations denied by Washington, Pakistan's military, and his political opponents.

Despite his legal troubles, Khan remains a central and popular figure in Pakistan, and the PTI wants his release. The issue of Khan's partial vision surfaced in late January when Tarar said the former premier had undergone a medical procedure for an eye condition and was in good health.

The PTI party made a strong showing in the Feb. 8, 2024, parliamentary election but did not win a majority of the seats in the National Assembly, or lower house of the parliament. The party claimed the vote was rigged. The government denies such claims
