If You Are Going Through An Existential Crisis, These 75 Philosophical Memes Might Be Relatable

If you've ever pondered the universe at 2 a.m. or spiraled into a debate with yourself about free will while the number of unread emails in your inbox grows to three figures, you've probably spent some time philosophizing about life. So it should be easy enough to then also reach the conclusion that philosophy, much like everything else, can be made into a meme.

We've gathered some of the best (or what we think are the best, who is really to say) posts from this group dedicated to hilarious and relatable philosophymemes. So get comfortable as you ponder the meaning of life, upvote your favorites and be sure to share your thoughts and ideas in the comments down below.

Philosophy memes have become an entire genre of internet humor that turns thousands of years of heavy intellectual thought into digestible jokes that make you question your existence while you're supposed to be working. Classical philosophers may have been sulking loners lost in their existential musings, but modern philosophers and philosophy students were born in the age of the Internet, the time when nothing makes sense and everything can be turned into a meme.

The result is a peculiar brand ofcomedywhere Nietzsche's existential dread meets modern anxiety about student loans and you get a Drake meme comparing optimistic nihilism to pessimistic nihilism.

Philosophy memes take heavyweight ideas and twist them into quick laughs, condensing centuries of thought into bite-sized images that turn Plato's cave into a late-night talk show set. You'll find metaphysics memes arguing whether a dropped pen truly exists andepistemology memesquestioning how you know you actually read the caption. The beauty of philosophy memes is that they make ancient wisdom feel accessible without dumbing it down too much, though your actual philosophy professor might disagree about the nuance being lost when you reduce Kant's categorical imperative to a two-panel comic.

The sense of self-awareness translated through memes shares striking similarities to philosopher Albert Camus' notion of absurdism, which is probably the most meta thing about the whole phenomenon. Generation Z has essentially weaponized existential dread and repackaged it as entertainment, using memes that remark things like "I may look fly but I want to die" to cope with an uncertain future. Perhaps the poignancy of meme humor lies in that Gen Z has no other choice but to embrace the absurdity of the future, using the tool they know best to lighten the weight with a little levity.

Now let's imagine what meme formats historical philosophers might have enjoyed if they had access to theinternet. Socrates would have absolutely crushed it with the "change my mind" format, setting up a table in the Athenian agora with a sign reading "I know that I know nothing, change my mind" and then proceeding to question everyone who approached until they either had an existential crisis or walked away confused. He'd probably also enjoy the "annoying orange" format because annoying people with questions until they reconsidered their entire worldview was literally his whole thing.

Plato would be all over the "distracted boyfriend" meme, using it to illustrate the allegory of the cave with the boyfriend representing humans, the girlfriend he's ignoring as the real forms, and the other woman he's checking out as the mere shadows on the cave wall. He'd probably also appreciate the "they don't know" party meme, where he's standing in the corner at a party thinking "they don't know about the world of forms" while everyone else is just trying to have a good time.

Descartes would obviously be the king of the "I think therefore I am" meme variations, probably creating hundreds of increasingly absurd versions like "Imemetherefore I am" or "I overthink therefore I have anxiety." He'd also love the "is this a pigeon" meme for its ability to question the nature of perception and reality, using it to ask "is this a reliable sensory experience" while pointing at literally anything.

Nietzsche would have a field day with the "God is dead and we killed him" jokes, probably turning it into increasingly dark humor about the death of meaning and the rise of nihilism. He'd definitely be into edgy meme culture and would probably run one of those accounts that posts things at 3am that make you question everything. The "this is fine" dog sitting in a burning room would be peak Nietzsche energy, perfectly capturing his philosophy that we should embrace suffering and create our own meaning despite the chaos.

Kant would probably be too busy trying to create the perfect categorical imperative for meme-making to actually post anything, writing lengthy treatises about the moral implications of viral content. If he did post, he'd probably use the "expanding brain" meme to illustrate different levels of moral reasoning, starting with "acting morally because you'll get in trouble" and ending with "acting morally because it's your duty according to universal law."

© Photo:s0md3v

© Photo:MulTiProG

© Photo:Laughingboy14

Diogenes would be the ultimate troll, living in a barrel and posting cynical hot takes about society while philosophers debated him in the comments. He'd probably just post pictures of himself doing increasingly absurd things to mock social conventions, basically inventing performance artmemescenturies before the internet existed. The "reject modernity, embrace tradition" meme would be his except it would say "reject civilization, live in a barrel."

The fact that we can imagine these scenarios says something profound about how memes have become a universal language for expressing complex ideas. Philosophy memes work because they take concepts that once required years of study to grasp and make them immediately relatable through humor, proving that maybe the best way to get people interested in life's big questions is to make them laugh first and think second.

Nikocado Avocado Undergoes Cosmetic Surgery, Shares Results

December 08, 2025

The internet is in a frenzy again, and this time it's all about YouTuber Nikocado Avocado.

YouTuber Nicholas Perry, known for mukbang videos, shared his incredible weight-loss journey with his 4.6 million YouTube subscribers throughout 2024.

Many were shocked by his jaw-dropping transformation. After years of leveraging his excess weight for content, the internet celebrity lost 250 pounds.

Behind every polished look are choices and struggles, and Nikocado isn't hiding it. This stunning twist is hailed as a top comeback of the year, with important lessons to be gleaned.

Nikocado Avocado Facelift Reveal

In February 2025, the internet collectively gasped at a bold headline: Nikocado Avocado revealed a facelift to address his excess skin.Peoplereported that the YouTuber underwent facial surgery to remove what he jokingly called his "big gobble gobble turkey neck."

His dramatic weight loss was first revealed in September 2024 in a video titled "two steps ahead," where he wore a panda mask and described the transformation as "the greatest social experiment."

He confessed to pre-recording content to convince fans he was still at his heaviest. That video has since racked up over 50 million views.

The massive 250-pound drop left him with considerable loose skin. To address this, he partnered with plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei to undergo facial reshaping.

Although initially reluctant to undergo complete abdominal skin removal, the success of his facelift gave him the confidence to move forward.

Nikocado admitted that he used to tuck the extra skin into his pants, but it became unbearable. Dr. Talei performed a "360 body lift," which targets sagging skin and enhances the appearance of remaining skin. The extensive procedures dramatically reduced his overhanging skin.

He told People the surgical results had changed his life and that he had "never felt so good" in his entire life.

The surgeries eliminated at least 10 pounds of excess skin. In true Nikocado fashion, he revealed the news while eating McDonald's on YouTube.

Histransformation videoquickly racked up reactions. Some fans were stunned, others skeptical, suspecting filters. The buzz over both the facelift and his slimmed-down look took off across Instagram,X, and TikTok.

Given his history of chaotic content and emotional breakdowns, skepticism was expected. In his "two steps ahead" reveal, he admitted to deceiving fans, prompting some to question whether the facelift was part of another elaborate performance.

Was It All for Clicks?

No Nikocado Avocado saga is complete without controversy, and his facelift and skin removal surgeries were no exception.

Known for tricking fans, he boasted in vlogs that he had stayed two steps ahead of everyone for over a year. That fueled immediate skepticism, with critics dissecting every frame of his latest updates.

Soon after his reveal video dropped, theories swirled. The most popular was that both the weight loss and facelift were stunts for engagement.

Supporters of this theory pointed out that Nikocado often prerecorded videos to mislead viewers and had previously claimed he'd given up on weight loss altogether.

Some fans argued the rollout, from his body transformation to the persona shift, was carefully crafted to appeal to a younger audience. Others suggested he was trying to portray both victim and villain at once, prioritizing clicks over authenticity.

True to form, Nikocado fired back with a flood of Instagram clips, including topless photos and hospital shots before and after surgery. He even launched new Instagram and X accounts just to document his transformation, hinting at a potential new era for his channel.

This pivot from food-based chaos to body positivity ignited debate across social platforms. TheDaily Bruinargued that the entire arc exposed "the inauthenticity of microcelebrity culture" and questioned whether such content resonates with younger, socially aware audiences.

Meanwhile, the hoax debate raged on. Some viewers struggled to celebrate Nikocado's glow-up, citing his reputation for pranks. Rumors circulated that he might be faking the transformation entirely or at least relying on filters to enhance his results.

While none of those claims have been verified, Dr. Talei did confirm the facelift. But the buzz speaks volumes about the complex path Nikocado took to fame.

Slippery Relationship With Authenticity

For years, Nikocado Avocado has operated in a space where sincerity and spectacle constantly overlap. His viral fame was built on emotional whiplash; one moment, he would break down in tears, the next, he would reveal it was all an act.

His earliest videos focused on veganism and lifestyle, but he soon pivoted to binge-eating content and intentional weight gain.

Today, his complicated relationship with authenticity is more visible than ever. That blend of chaos, confession, and deliberate deception made him one of YouTube's most polarizing figures. Over time, the lines blurred between Nikocado the person and Nikocado the persona.

His entire career has been built on reinvention.

Every pivot added to his internet lore, as he turned virality into a weapon, boosting subscribers and mocking both haters and fans in equal measure. Just when viewers thought he had hit bottom, he would launch a new arc.

This cycle of collapse and rebound is why many now question the sincerity of his latest transformation. Every breakdown, confession, and reveal is amplified for maximum drama.

Only in rare moments, we catch glimpses of Nicholas Perry, the man behind the mask, before he disappears again into his caricature.

Why AI Makes Alexis Ohanian ‘Bullish’ About Live Entertainment

December 08, 2025

"You'd be hard pressed to find someone who has spent more time building or obsessing over the online zeitgeist, for better or for worse," Alex Ohanian introduced himself at the BRIDGE Summit in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

Ohanian, a founding partner at venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, is perhaps best known as the founder and former executive chairman of Reddit. "Being chronically online was part of the job," he said, as part of a conversation with TIME executive editor Nikhil Kumar. TIME is a media partner of the BRIDGE Summit, which has gathered a global community of creators, policymakers, investors, technologists, media institutions, and cultural leaders to discuss the landscape and future of media.

But the advent of artificial intelligence has made platforms like Reddit, which once served as hubs of connection, less human, Ohanian said. "Conservatively, I'd say 20% of all the content we see on social media is fake in some form or another," he said, echoing some concerns that others have labeled thedead internet theory. "No one really is immune," he added, explaining how AI models that train on social media data have incentivized the mass creation of content, often utilizing AI, simply to manipulate those models.

Ohanian said he isn't sure how the problem will be solved—"Someone is going to have to crack what the next wave of social media looks like that verifies humanity or somehow allows us to understand who is real, without scanning everyone's retina"—but he also spoke about why he still considers himself an optimist in the face of this technological evolution.

"When our screens get 100 times more addictive and better, I think a part of our humanity suffers," he said, but it also will increase the desire to have real-world experiences that center humanity. "Live events are going to be one of the, I think, best parts to come out of this AI wave that folks don't, maybe, intuitively consider."

Ohanian, who is alsoa lead investorin the Los Angeles professional women's soccer team Angel City FC in 2020, said that "the humanity of sport is undeniable" and that he was also "bullish" on theater making a "comeback" in the next decade. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed, he said, how important it is for people to connect in person. "In this post-AI world, it is obvious to me that coming together in person, live events is the last place left in entertainment."

Warning against mushroom foraging in California after fatal poisoning

December 08, 2025
Warning against mushroom foraging in California after fatal poisoning

Officials in California are urging people not to forage for wild mushrooms after a rise in poisoning cases caused at least one death.

The California Poison Control System has identified 21 cases of amatoxin poisoning clustered in northern California, likely resulting from death cap mushrooms, the state's department of public health said.

The poisoning resulted in severe liver damage in several people, including children, and at least one of the patients may need a liver transplant, the department said.

Death cap mushrooms can easily be mistaken for safe, edible mushrooms because of their similar taste, smell, and appearance.

The confirmed cases happened between mid-November and early December, a rainy season in the region that creates ideal conditions for the deadly variety to grow, mostly near oaks and hardwood trees, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) said.

Though the cases are mostly in the Monterey and San Francisco Bay area of Northern California, the risk is statewide, the department warned.

"Death cap mushrooms contain potentially deadly toxins that can lead to liver failure," Dr Erica Pan, CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer, said in a statement. "Because the death cap can easily be mistaken for edible safe mushrooms, we advise the public not to forage for wild mushrooms at all during this high-risk season."

The death cap mushroom is never safe to eat, even if it is boiled, dried, frozen or cooked.

Eating the deadly mushrooms can cause watery diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and dehydration within six to 24 hours - and although symptoms may initially wane, severe or fatal liver damage can still occur up to eight days later.

"Only people with extensive training and experience should eat wild mushrooms that they have picked themselves," Dr Edward Moreno, County of Monterey Health Officer, said in a statement.

The top AP photos from Ukraine in 2025 show its grief and grit in another year of war

The top AP photos from Ukraine in 2025 show its grief and grit in another year of war

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The Associated Press' most powerful images from Ukraine in 2025 show a nation defined by both unending violence and determined survival.

Captured in cities, villages, front lines and shelters, the images document a year of turbulence — death-filled front lines, diplomatic uncertainty and the relentless pounding of the country's infrastructure.

Photographers witnessed profound loss: two mothers weeping over the coffins of their 15-year-old children. Survivors, dazed and dust-covered, led away from residential buildings torn open by airstrikes, their faces marked by shock, grief and exhaustion.

Young residents — one in black platform heels — step through the rubble-strewn remains of a gutted housing block and across a children's playground, its slide and climbing frame improbably left intact.

On front lines and training grounds, soldiers bear the weight of a grinding war. A veteran missing both arms and a leg grips a rifle with prosthetics, his gaze unwavering in drills. In a freezing trench, soldiers rest among gear bags and equipment, scrolling through news on their phones.

Sacrifice was matched by defiance: The images reveal a landscape where mourning and persistence coexist.

Ukraine struck deeper into Russia and held back waves of attacks. Children studied in underground shelters and ordinary Ukrainians made the most of rare breaks from the war. Women in embroidered dresses dance in midsummer sunlight. Young people crowded into a Halloween party.

And in a moment of unguarded joy, a woman clutches a returning soldier in a flag-draped embrace following a prisoner exchange, in a crowd of women holding up photos of their loved ones.
