The BacheloralumMadi Prewettis loving being "a submissive wife."

While speaking on the Monday, Dec. 1 episode of herStay True Podcast, Prewett, 29 — who was runner-up on season 24 ofThe Bachelorin 2020 — spoke to her husband Grant Troutt and guest Bryce Crawford about marriage and the latter's engagement to Maddy Dodd.

Prewett said on the podcast that she'd "learned a lot" about being "a submissive wife," admitting, "It was a challenge for me at first."

"Now, it's, like, my favorite thing. I love talking about submission," the reality TV star went on.

This isn't the first time Prewett has mentioned submission. Duringa June 2024 episodeof her podcast, she told her listeners, "As a wife, I'm called to submit, I'm called to respect, I'm called to honor."

"I'm called to love, I'm called to be committed and to keep our marriage bed pure, and to make him, other than God, my greatest priority," she added at the time.

Elsewhere in the latest podcast episode, Prewett, who sharesdaughter Hosanna, 10 months, with Troutt, admitted engagement was "hard" for the couple.

The pair said their "I dos" on Oct. 29, 2022, exchanging vows in front of 400 loved ones at Troutt's parents' home in Dallas, Texas, aspreviously reported by PEOPLE. The ceremony came three months after their whirlwind engagement, which occurred just eight months into their relationship.

"Marriage, it's the most beautiful, humble, refining, wild adventure [and] best friendship. It's just, like, the best," the podcast host continued.

However, she admitted, "Engagement was hard for us in a lot of different ways. There was just a lot going on, even in our personal lives outside of engagement season," adding, "[Grant's] grandmother passed away [and] there was just a lot going on in a short time."

"We had a three-month engagement. The world thought we were crazy. Maybe we were a little bit, but also we were just so excited to get married," she went on, stating that they'd "learned a lot in those three years" since tying the knot.

When it comes to advice Prewett has for engaged couples or those thinking about marriage, she told the podcast, "Fight to unite and not to be right. That was one of the hardest things for me when we first got married."

"I just wanted to be right all the time, and it was my way or the highway. I learned a lot through prayer and humbling myself before God. He was, like, 'Actually, you got a lot of junk [that you need] to sort through.' It was very sanctifying," she continued.

Prewett and Troutt regularly open up about family life on the podcast.

In July, the couple sparked backlashafter saying they'd both be open to using spanking as a form of discipline, claiming that their beliefs were supported by the Bible.

Troutt went on to say that it would be "hilarious" when they started using spanking as a way of punishing their daughter, Hosanna.

"The Lord's discipline is always on the heels of disobedience or sin," he said during thepodcast episodein question. "So think about it, when you have a child, you don't just discipline them for being good and obeying you, right?"

"Like, if Hosanna obeys us, we're not like, 'Come here, girl, come here. Alright, pull 'em down, get that, you know, Mama, get here,' " Troutt continued. "Which will be hilarious, by the way, when we start spanking Hosanna. Which we will, on the record, because the Bible clearly says, 'Folly is bound up in a child, but discipline drives it far away.'"

Prewett agreed with her husband and also cited the Bible.

"It also specifically says discipline with a rod... Well, some people could say, 'You discipline them with time-outs.' Hold on, it says with a rod," she insisted.

Reps for Troutt and Prewett didn't immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment at the time.

Back in March, McCarthy appeared on an episode of Maria Menounos'Heal Squadpodcast and detailed harrowing moments from a serious health scare involving her son Evan. Before learning of his autism diagnosis, McCarthy said that he would have "life-threatening" seizures, and recalled a time when he went into cardiac arrest.

"Waiting for the paramedics when he went into cardiac arrest for that seizure — there's nothing worse," she recalled to Menounos. "He's 2½ years old. He's turning blue and I'm on the phone with 911, like screaming at them to hurry up and they can't come fast enough."

"I had so many conversations with God in that moment of like bring back my boy," said McCarthy, sharing that the paramedics had to bring her son back to life twice, and she contemplated taking her own life if he didn't survive.

"And, then I got the autism diagnosis shortly after that, I hit such a low course being compounded with that — the seizures and the autism diagnosis — I just remember crying so hard in the shower, like one of those scenes you see in a movie where you're like in so much pain, ... and that felt so helpless," she added.

Now, Evan is exploring a career in music. In February 2023, he debuted his first original song, "It Doesn't Matter." He has said he was inspired to write the song by his celebrity crush,Selena Gomez, and worked on it alone for some time before presenting the lyrics to stepdad Donnie Wahlberg.

"One of the many reasons why I admire and respect Selena Gomez is her ability to be brave no matter what life throws at her," Evanexplained to PEOPLE. "I, too, have struggled with my health and relationships, and because Selena has been so open about her struggles, it has helped me find the confidence and inner strength to get through the toughest of times. I wrote this song to let her know how much I appreciate her, and I wish her all the love and happiness in the world because she deserves it."

Brendan Fraser Shares Heartbreaking Truth About His Career After Oscar Victory

Brendan Fraser, once a staple of 1990s Hollywood, has come forward with apainful truthabout his inner life that persisted even through the highest moment of his career.

The 57-year-old actor, who won theAcademy Award for Best Actor in 2022forThe Whale, revealed in an interview with the Associated Press that despite the recognition, he continues to grapple with deep-seated self-doubt and insecurity.

Fraser's admission comes after a decades-long journey marked by both global success andpersonal anguish.

The actor explained how not only did he feel like his personal life was falling apart at one point, but that everything he fought for professionally was being taken away from him.

Brendan Fraser shared an intimate fact about his inner life that remains with him more than two decades after his hit,The Mummy

"I struggle withconfidence. I always have the feeling of not being good enough," he told AP on November 19.

His breakout as the shirtless, endearing jungle man in 1997'sGeorge of the Junglemade him a household name.

By 1999, his role as adventurer Rick O'Connell inThe Mummyturned him into an international superstar.

The 2000s welcomed him with hits likeBedazzled,Journey to the Center of the Earth, andThe Quiet American, however, his career began to fade from public view as the decade closed.

Behind the scenes,Fraserwas silently enduring a string of personal and professional setbacks that halted his momentum.

Fraser's meteoric rise to fame was followed by an equally swift descent

First, his body gave out.

Years of doing physically demanding stunts left him battered. Between 2003 and 2010,Fraserunderwent multiple surgeries: a partial knee replacement, a spine surgery, and vocal cord repairs, among others.

He described spending "seven years in and out of hospitals" as a result of the toll his action roles had taken.

Second, his marriage collapsed.

Fraser and actress Afton Smith, whom he married in 1998, divorced in 2008. They share three sons.

The split became contentious, especially after the actor was ordered to pay $50,000 per month in alimony and an additional $25,000 per month in child support, totaling $900,000 per year.

Asthe actor's financial situation deteriorated, he found himself unable to deal with the burden. In 2013, he petitioned the court to reduce the payments because his income had fallen significantly.

Third, he went public with an assault allegation.

In 2018, Fraser toldGQthat in 2003 he was groped by Philip Berk, then-president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, at a luncheon in Beverly Hills. Fraser said the incident left him "panicked" and "ill."

Berk denied the accusation but admitted in his memoir to pinchingFraser's backside "in jest."

Fraser said breaking his silence could've led to Hollywood closing doors for him.

The actor said that despite becoming a world-renowned star, he has always struggled with self-doubt

His Oscar-winning comeback inThe Whalemarked atriumphant return.

In the role, Fraser played Charlie, a reclusive and obese English teacher attempting to reconnect with his estranged daughter before his death. The performance drew critical acclaim and reignited public affection for the once-absent star.

Yet the self-doubt never left.

AfterThe Whale, Fraser's first major role was in the indie filmRental Family, directed by Hikari and shot in Tokyo. In Japan, Fraser found a needed respite. He stayed in Minato City, rode moving sidewalks, and even rented a hedgehog at a local café.

"It was personally what I needed. I wanted to remove myself from whatever this place is, just for a while," he said.

He also passed time decorating a rubber deer for Thanksgiving archery with his kids and playingZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which he described as his "place to float around at the end of the day."

Now, after years of speculation, Fraser officially confirmed that he will return to theThe Mummyfranchise.  He said this upcoming fourth film would be "the one [he] wanted to make," and that he had been waiting "20 years for this call."

Democratic challenger defeats Pittsburgh mayor in a primary after a clash over the party's futureNew Foto - Democratic challenger defeats Pittsburgh mayor in a primary after a clash over the party's future

Allegheny County Controller Corey O'Connor defeated Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey in the city's hotly contested Democratic mayoral primary, The Associated Press projected Tuesday, after a race that garnered national attention as a notable proxy fight between progressives and center-left Democrats. With more than 96% of the vote in, O'Connor led Gainey 53%-47% in the nominating contest. "Thank you, Pittsburgh,"O'Connor said on X. "We built this campaign with and for the people of this city, neighborhood by neighborhood. I'm proud to be your Democratic nominee for Mayor. I'm ready to get to work, and I'm grateful to have you with me as we take the next steps forward, together." Tuesday's election wasone of the first major Democratic primariessince the 2024 election in which the party's progressive and center-left wings faced off. And the mayoral race followed an election cycle in which Democratic governance of cities took center stage in Republican campaign messaging. In a statement, Gainey said that while the defeat "isn't what we hoped for, our people-powered movement in Pittsburgh is stronger than it's ever been before thanks to every person who was part of this campaign to build a city for all." "And that means Corey O'Connor must be ready to carry forward the transformational progress the people of this city demand and that he promised in his campaign," Gainey added. "The progress my administration delivered on affordable housing, policing, and community investments set a new bar that Corey will be expected to build upon." "From the bottom of my heart — thank you, Pittsburgh," his statement continued. "Let's keep fighting for each other." Gainey and his allies painted O'Connor, the county controller and the son of a former mayor, as beholden to President Donald Trump and monied real estate interests, pointing to campaign donations from Trump backers and developers. The mayor, who was first elected in 2021, also pointed to drops in violent crime, local job growth and the city's improved credit ratings to counter O'Connor, who portrayed Gainey as an unproductive mayor who's failed at managing city finances, its police department, and on general quality-of-life fronts O'Connor launched his campaign late last year, emerging as a favorite early on and raising more money than Gainey, though polling showed the race tightening as Election Day neared. Last month, both campaigns touted internal polling showing them with an advantage in the tough-to-model local race: Gainey's campaign survey showed him up 7 points, while O'Connor's showed him up by 4, though that was considerably closer than other polls his campaign touted earlier in the cycle that showed the challenger up double-digits. Gainey, the city's first Black mayor, won a contested primary in 2021, knocking off incumbent Mayor Bill Peduto in a three-way primary with a plurality of the vote. His win was part of a county-wide progressive advance, preceding wins by Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa., and Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, among other candidates on the left who have won major offices in the area in recent years. The Pittsburgh mayoral race elevated housing policy to the forefront of the local discussion. Gainey has sought to enact inclusionary zoning policies throughout Pittsburgh that require new developments to set aside at least 10% of units for affordable housing. Those policies currently apply to only a few neighborhoods, and O'Connor came out against making inclusionary zoning citywide policy. Meanwhile, a key point of contention in the race focused on just how many affordable units have been or are being built in the city since the start of Gainey's term as mayor.

Justice Department opens investigation into former New York Gov. Andrew CuomoNew Foto - Justice Department opens investigation into former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo

The Justice Department has opened an investigation into Andrew Cuomo, former New York governor and a top candidate forNew York City mayor, following a referral from congressional Republicans who accused Cuomo of lying during an investigation of his administration's Covid-19 response, a person briefed on the matter said. The nascent inquiry follows anearlier request to the Biden administrationthat didn't result in an investigation. It also comes after Justice officials ended aseparate corruption prosecution of Eric Adams, the current New York mayor who is one of Cuomo's rivals for the job. That move prompted upheaval in the Manhattan US Attorney's Office after prosecutors refused to drop the case as ordered. Adams has vowed to assist the Trump administration's immigration efforts. The Justice Department declined to comment on the Cuomo investigation, reported earlier byThe New York Times. Rich Azzopardi, a spokesperson for the Democratic former governor, said that they had not been informed of the federal investigation and defended Cuomo's testimony to Congress. "We have never been informed of any such matter, so why would someone leak it now? The answer is obvious: This is lawfare and election interference plain and simple—something President Trump and his top Department of Justice officials say they are against," Azzopardi said in a statement. "Governor Cuomo testified truthfully to the best of his recollection about events from four years earlier, and he offered to address any follow-up questions from the Subcommittee — but from the beginning this was all transparently political." A Justice official defended the timing of the moves on Adams and Cuomo, saying "This Department of Justice has ended the weaponization of government and will continue to follow the facts in every case in order restore one tier of justice for all America." The investigation comes as Cuomo is attempting a political comeback after heresignedas governor in 2021 amid a sexual misconduct scandal. Cuomo has denied the allegations that he sexually harassed 11 women, which were outlined in a report by New York attorney general Letitia James, who is also under investigationby the Trump administration. House Oversight Chairman James Comer in April referred Cuomo to the Department of Justice for potential prosecution over his testimony to Congress after a similar referral from a GOP-led panel investigating the Covid-19 pandemic last year did not result in an investigation. At issue is Cuomo's truthfulness regarding his role in the writing and review of a state health department report from June 2020 thatunderestimated the nursing home death countby nearly half. A2021 investigationby James, a Democrat, found that the New York State Department of Health undercounted Covid-19 deaths among residents of nursing homes by approximately 50%, essentially by leaving out deaths of residents who had been transferred to hospitals. A2022 auditby State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli concluded that Cuomo's health department failed to report roughly 4,100 deaths between April 2020 and February 2021. CNN's KFile has also found thatCuomo downplayedlags in nursing home patient and death data and defended his administration from allegations of wrongdoing, according to a review of his daily press conferences from spring 2020 in which nursing homes were mentioned. Cuomo has consistently pushed back on allegations on wrongdoing – with his legal team filing its own referral letter in October, requesting the Department of Justice investigate an alleged abuse of power by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Azzopardi, the Cuomo spokesperson, told CNN at the time that the GOP-led committee was engaged in a "pre-election Maga exercise and affirmatively chose to act unethically in order to help their masters score cheap political points." This story has been updated with additional details. CNN's Mark Morales, Jake Tapper and Piper Hudspeth Blackburn contributed to this report. Panthers ease to road win over Hurricanes in Game 1New Foto - Panthers ease to road win over Hurricanes in Game 1

The Florida Panthers didn't have time to prepare for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, so they just rode their momentum instead. The Panthers received goals from five different players and Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves in a 5-2, series-opening victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday in Raleigh, N.C. Carter Verhaeghe had a goal and an assist for the Panthers, who were coming off a 6-1 road win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of their second-round series on Sunday. Florida's Aaron Ekblad, A.J. Greer, Sam Bennett and Eetu Luostarinen also scored, and Evan Rodrigues and Tomas Nosek each had two assists. "There wasn't much time off here from Game 7," Greer said. "We came in with a mindset and a willingness to compete. We know our game, we know what to do and we got right to it." Florida has won five of its past six games overall. "We're such a deep team and every line has an identity, and we try to play to it every night," Verhaeghe said. "Every night it seems like a different line is stepping up and scoring big goals and making plays, and that's our mentality." Sebastian Aho and Jackson Blake scored, Seth Jarvis had two assists and Frederik Andersen made 15 saves for the Hurricanes, who came in 5-0 at home in the playoffs. Carolina finished its five-game series win over the Washington Capitals last Thursday. Game 2 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Thursday in Raleigh. "I didn't hate our game tonight," Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour said. "It's going to be hard. It's going to go back and forth. I think we had our opportunities early in the game, too. We got a couple good opportunities and didn't capitalize and then it went a different direction." After killing an early power play, the Panthers capitalized on their first man advantage when Verhaeghe lifted a backhand over Andersen's right shoulder for a 1-0 lead at 8:30 of the first period. Florida extended its lead to 2-0 at 12:29 of the first after Carolina forward Jordan Staal lost possession of the puck in his own end. Rodrigues recovered and fed Ekblad, who fired in a wrist shot from the left circle. Carolina scored with 16 seconds left in the first period to cut the deficit to 2-1. Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk missed on his one-handed clearing attempt, allowing Jarvis to take possession and feed Aho cutting to the net. The pass was slightly behind Aho, but he used his skate to redirect the puck between Bobrovsky's pads. "They got some really good high-end scorers, so when you get your opportunities, it may not be many ... you've got to find a way to put it by them," Brind'Amour said. The Panthers re-established the two-goal cushion at 3:33 of the second period. Greer was left alone coming down the left wing on a three-on-three rush, and he scored off a backhand feed from Niko Mikkola to make it 3-1. Greer has scored in two straight games after earlier being a healthy scratch in the Panthers' first three playoff games. "There's an identity on that fourth line," Greer said. "Whether you're in or you're or not, you know how to play and you know that you're going to get a call and you have to be ready. It was a big moment in my career to get that first playoff game under my belt, and I just want to come in and help the team as much as possible." Bennett hit the net with a wrist shot through traffic on a power play to extend the lead to 4-1 at 6:08 of the third. Luostarinen made it 5-1 with a one-timer off a backhand feed from below the goal line by Nosek at 14:55. Carolina answered with a power-play goal by Blake to cut it to 5-2 at 16:19. --Field Level Media
