Jake Worthington is taking a step back from music.
On Friday, May 22, the country star shared anInstagram postrevealing he planned to take "some time" away from his career.
"I live a life as my heroes did, but that life gotten ahold of me," Worthington, 30, wrote. "I love my family, my friends and my fans too much to let it take over me."
He continued, "I need to take some time to work on myself for my wife and daughter."
Worthington then promised he "will come back even better."
"God bless country music," he said.
Worthington received support in the comments from some of his fellow country artists.

Worthington, who first rose to fame while competing onThe Voicein 2014, released his most recent albumWhen I Write the Songin 2025.
In February, the "It Ain't the Whiskey" musician was one of the artists selected as a part of the2026 NextStage classalongsideAlexandra Kay,Carter Faith,Emily Ann Roberts,Graham Barham,Hudson Westbrook,Tyler Braden,Vincent MasonandWillow Avalon.
In 2024, hespoke to PEOPLEabout why it was a "gift" to collaborate with one of his "musical heroes" and fellow TexanMiranda Lamberton their joint track "Hello S---ty Day."
"I know I've had 'em. I had definitely had [those] mornings... mornings and evenings that felt exactly how I believe that the song portrays, and I think a lot of folks have," Worthington said of the track.
He added, "People are going to have s---ty days. And I think that we see the connection between the listener and the artist based off of what their songs are, how much you can relate."
