Weeks before the Actors Rising event, NBC renewedHappy's Place, which is currently in its second season, for a third season.
"When we got renewed, it was around my birthday, and then we got together to celebrate the news on my birthday, and then they had presents for me, something I did not ask for, and they made me had the best time," Castelblanco recalled. "So that's the kind of family we've become. And such a cliché, everyone says that about their show, but really, God, I mean, it starts from the top. It starts from Reba being the kindest person there is."
Castelblanco also told PEOPLE that the Actors Rising event "feels like a celebration" of their sitcom's renewal.
"It's such a hug at the end of your day," he added. "That's my favorite thing aboutHappy's Place. It just feels like you get to have a moment where you find the best in humanity ... that's what we need right now. So I'm so proud of being part of the show and that we're going to get to do more."
Happy's Placeairs Fridays on NBC and is available tostream on Peacock.
